Welcome to our wiki.

On this site I will chronicle our journey into the "real world"

We will collaborating with classes and community partners to create real world projects.

We are part of

Jefferson Parish Public Schools, Louisiana

TECHNEAUX 21S

A southern renaissance that educates and preserves the culture, history, and heritage that is uniquely and irreplaceably New Orleans, by creating authentic, engaging, and cross-disciplinary learning opportunities for students using technology to promote 21st century skills.

Program Objectives

  • Create authentic, engaging, and cross-disciplinary learning opportunities for students using technology to promote 21st century skills including creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration.
  • Create greater awareness of New Orleans area museums, cultural organizations, and parks among students and families.
  • Create a “NOLApedia” digital archive including written work, video, digital photography, and audio recordings.

This space will show our collaborative endeavors and house our work: blogs posts, wikipages and podcasts.

New Orleans Museum of Art

2010 - 2011 Projects

Centennial Exhibit Student Audio Tour

Project Description

Students will study selected works of art from the museum's Centennial Exhibition and create podcasts to be used for an audio tour at the museum, as well as posted on the museum's website. The podcasts will describe facts about the artwork and artists, as well as the students' impressions of the works of art. Additionally for the Centennial Exhibition, a few podcasts will be included that discuss the history of the museum and its relationship with New Orleans.  Optionally the students will visit the museum at the end of the project as guides where they will present the selected works of art.
Whoo Hoo, my scholars will be part of a project that extends beyond the classroom walls and benefit the community.
